Interesting matters for language teachers

Hello fellow language teachers. This section of the web site is given over to teaching ideas and methods. They have arisen either from the need to get quick results in the 3 week children’s summer courses or as helpful material for teacher training courses.

There are 33 categories of teaching procedure; each category has a special colour symbol. (see photo) All the book’s pages are cut into 5 strips so that 5 mini pages face 5 others. Thus there is the possibility of millions of possible page combinations, and these chance combinations of ideas on the different mini pages leads to the generation of still further ideas.

Book - CD ROM Project

  1. A description of a projected book + CD rom which aims to furnish adult material for language tasks and which at the same time will aid the students gain an understanding of what one could call the problems of existence. This material is organised in 40 categories which I call “The human life chart”
  2. It is a system of categories with which to file articles from newspapers as source material for language tasks and as a stimulus to thinking and discussion
  3. A more detailed view of “The human life chart” that explains each category under 4 columns:
    social
    political

    history
    the personal science and technology
